Some people do very long term investments, as early as the previous xp weekend. It's not too early or late depending on what you are aiming for on your ROI%. It usually will be too late if you try to invest a few days before or during because prices peak then and because of buy limits.

Could be like how divine was saying people sell their high value items for credit like a pawn shop buy the stuff they need and then buy it back at a higher price later after the event

All good man. Thank you for the reply yeah it was a hidden up date people were dumping stock because they dropped the high alch value still made a bit on it because it dove beyond the new amount and i just sold them later. Getting the hang of it now loving the divination event ridiculous prices.

Hey y'all, so the Rainbow Cape just crashed about 10m very suddenly and I am trying to figure out why, if any one has any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

When you get more experienced you tend to know what is worth the effort and time and what isn't, so that can only be helped with experience as you become more familiar with it. Sometimes flips flop, and you cut your losses in order to flip other stuff and keep making, other times it is worth it to just wait (just because your item isn't selling doesn't mean you can't still profit, sometimes someone just cut). Instabuy another to see if the margin is still the same, unless ofcourse the item has a low limit. Be patient thats all I can really tell you

I'm having a really hard time deciding whether i should be patient and wait or should sell out and cut my losses on some items. Other times it just feels like i'm not making enough money for my time and there's really not much info on finding this out. Mechz.com guides had this way of calculating whether the flip is worth the time, but i'm pretty sure that according to it i'm not making any money lol.

Hello,

So i've been getting into merchanting for the past few days. Been doing sort of well, made some money, you can see it in my logs (i started with 50m), but i noticed that i can't really make a lot of money. Making ~9m in 3 days isn't really something much.
I just can't seem to find the flips that get me the real money. I had most success with overnight flips on T70-T90 items, they make me some money and that's kind of the amount i'm looking for to continue, but it takes full day to make that kind of flip for me. I've been looking for different items, but the fast flips usually have prices that move a lot, can't seem to get a hold of whether i should buy into it or not ( so far i noticed that they always come back to some average, but have moments of fluctuation where i could cash in, but can't seem to pinpoint them ). Flipping herblore items seems kind of worth, but it takes a lot of time usually for 200k profit.

Guess what i'm asking is - What am i doing wrong? Should i look for different items? Am i missing something? Am i just too impatient?

There is always a reason why an item is crashing, either someone is dumping their stock or there has been some sort of update or change that is causing players to sell off the items or causing players to have less interest in buying the item lessening the demand on that item. Now as for the item being way below high alch value as you say, if the item has a decent buy limit and profit per alch people will eventually start realising this and the price will rise. I suggest if you haven't already (think I commented a little late) to research into upcoming updates or changes that could affect the items price, if you can't find anything the more than likely cause is the fact that someone is dumping the items
